Willow Ranks #1 in Customer Satisfaction!

Willow Ranks #1 in Customer Satisfaction!

In a third-party survey of pumping moms, Willow had the #1 customer satisfaction rating*––the highest of any pump brand, and not just wearables!

In a recent independent survey of active breastfeeding and pumping moms*, Willow had the highest customer satisfaction rate of all breast pumps surveyed. Willow also had the highest Net Promoter Score, meaning we had the most moms likely to recommend our pumps.

For us, this is proof that thoughtfully designed, high-performing products; support for mom; and excellent customer care make a difference. Poorly made pumps with no customer support just don’t cut it. We’re making life easier, and as a team of U.S.-based moms serving other moms, that means the world to us. Let’s dive into what moms love most about Willow and what to look for in a pump.

What Makes Willow So Special

You shouldn’t have to sacrifice comfort for milk output—and Willow Go is proof of that. It’s the hands-free, hospital-strength, app-controlled pump that moms say is more comfortable than their other pumps, and empties them just as well. Since it’s engineered for optimal comfort and milk output, moms can pump anytime and anywhere without sacrificing effectiveness or efficiency. It fits fully in-bra (no bulky cords, tubes, or motors) with a shape that mimics the breast, and with just a few dishwasher-safe parts, assembly is quick and easy.

Similarly, the Willow 360 is also an app-controlled, hospital-grade wearable, but it’s different in that its unique technology makes it the only pump that’s 100% leak-proof in any position, is built with smart sensors for real-time tracking, and can even be controlled via Apple watch.

See what moms are saying (and which awards we’ve won, too!)

Do’s of Choosing a Wearable Pump

Choosing a breast pump is just one in what feels like a million decisions to make in early parenthood. It can be overwhelming! But there are a few important things to look out for when choosing a wearable pump in particular.

DO Choose a Pump That’s FDA Approved & Clinically Tested

Breast pumps are medical devices, so FDA clearance means that your pump has gone through a rigorous review process to ensure safety and effectiveness. Cheap knock-offs exist everywhere, so be sure to check for FDA credibility. Additionally, a clinically tested pump means it has been tested by real moms under the guidance of an institutional review board and principal investigator. Clinical tests are a requirement for FDA clearance, and these trials ensure that pumps deliver on features and benefits that are promised in their marketing. These tests also provide design and technology teams with feedback from real pumping moms, which can be used to improve product development over time.

DO Buy From an Authorized Dealer

In order to ensure your pump is authentic, has a warranty, and that the company can offer customer support, be sure you’re purchasing from an authorized dealer. Knockoff pumps have been designed to look like pumps from more reputable brands, and sometimes, the only difference in appearance is the logo (or a lack of branding entirely). Cheap dupes usually lack a dedicated website and are not FDA cleared. Search for reviews and online support of these pumps: If you can’t find a responsive customer care team, then beware.

DO Consider An Internal Motor

The beauty of a great wearable pump is that it should be both comfortable and discreet while still achieving maximum output. But you may want to think twice about wearables that feature an external motor. In addition to adding bulk, they can create uneven weight distribution that can lead to discomfort when pumping. Instead, look for pumps that mimic the shape of the breast with an internal circular motor that results in better alignment, a more optimal latch, and stronger pump performance overall.

DO Choose Hospital-Strength Suction

Hospital-strength suction is critical for optimal milk output. Pumps without it are more likely to be less efficient, meaning they'll remove less milk from your breast. You’ll also want to watch out for pumps that lack multiple levels of suction that can be customized per breast — this decreases the likelihood of optimal milk output.

DO Choose Flanges Optimized for Safety

Flange fit is key to a successful pumping journey, and a flange that's optimized for safety will not only have a longer tunnel to prevent nipple abrasion, it will also offer inclusive sizing to comfortably fit all nipple types. If a flange is too short, nipples can “crash” into the edge of the flange, leading to compressed milk ducts and a negative impact on supply over time. If a brand isn’t transparent about their flange design, you may want to think twice.

DO Choose a Pump That’s App-Controlled

App-controlled pumps give you greater control and flexibility (which is the whole point of a wearable pump, right?). An app allows you to effortlessly start and stop each session, adjust suction, switch between stimulation and expression modes, and more. Without app control, you’ll have to do all of the above manually, which takes away from the pump’s ease and efficiency. Keep your hands even freer for whatever the day (and your baby) throws your way.

Our Customer Care Out-Supports the Rest

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: Moms deserve better. This is why customer support is a trademark of the Willow pumping experience. Our customer care team is based in the U.S., serving moms in real time. They’re available 7 days a week, and moms wait less than 20 seconds on average before a member of our care team picks up the phone or responses to a live chat. They’re also ready to respond to emails and even Instagram DMs! Plus, 80% of our care team is moms, and many have pumped with Willow, too! As moms, we understand the urgency of getting answers to your questions, and ASAP.

Another hallmark of the Willow customer care team are our Mom Coaches. Sizing question? Need help troubleshooting your pump? Every Willow pump purchaser gets access to personalized virtual support from a mom coach, no matter which pump you’re using. Just set up a dedicated time to meet one-on-one with a Willow Mom Coach. (And sometimes you just need to talk to another mom!) Willow Go users get access to our Pump and Pour program while Willow 360 pumpers get 360 Care. Both programs are designed to set moms up for success.

Even if you find yourself pumping (and scrolling) at 3 a.m., and think of a quick question, the Willow app features a wealth of helpful information. Gain access to services like lactation support from Simplifed, the MinuteClinic at CVS, or even connect with other moms through our in-app links to Auggie and Chamber of Mothers. Read articles about pumping schedules, baby (and parent) sleep, and postpartum recovery. Need a question answered STAT? Tap into our conversational AI tool, Ema, designed by moms for moms to provide fast, accurate, and empathetic maternal health support. Ema is clinically trained in women’s health to offer Willow moms contextual and holistic guidance they can trust.
