The Ultimate Live Music Festival Checklist for Pumping and Breastfeeding Moms

Ready, set(list), go!

It’s giving… hot mom summer. Like, sweltering. If you’re in your warm weather concert era, you know that trying to pump (or breastfeed!) while getting down in the stands can be tricky and overwhelming. There’s the sweat. The schedule. The extreme hunger and thirst! Thankfully, we’ve got you covered – and not just literally.

The Top Ten Things You Need to Feed

1. Smart style: You’ll need to be wearing something with *easy access.* You should also feel GOOD, and dare we say … like yourself! If you’re pumping with a Willow pump, which fits totally in-bra (without any of those clunky clips for the motor), you can take more liberties with your style and embrace thinner straps and less coverage. Think: V-neck dresses or tops and tanks with slightly wider straps (for a nursing & pumping bra).

2. The Willow Wearable Breast Pump: If you're pumping, make sure to bring a portable and discreet pump, and charge it in advance. Sitting at a concert next to an outlet is so five years ago.

3. The Willow Pump Anywhere Bag: It’s big enough to hold your pump and pump parts, and small enough to fit into your summer concert schedule. Ours has room for a cooler bottle – remember, if you don’t have a cooler, your milk can only stay safe at room temperature for so long.

Keep your pump safe and your milk cold on the go! This sleek, compact bag with removable milk cooler holds your pumping essentials as a backpack, crossbody, or shoulder bag.

4. Hand Sanitizer: Sanitize your hands before and after pumping, and especially before transferring your milk to a cooler (or a bottle, if you have your baby with you). Lots of sweaty Swifties equal lots of potential germs!

5. Hydration and Snacks: Breastfeeding and pumping can make you thirsty and hungry, especially during a hot summer concert. You'll need plenty of water and healthy snacks like The Perfect Bar or dried fruit & nuts.

6. Power Bank: Make sure your Willow Go or 3.0 is fully charged before you get there. If not, bring an extra power source for your pumps and your iphone. You'll be making TikToks like a maniac anyways — you can’t be too prepared!

7. Cleaning Supplies: Quick-clean pump wipes can be a lifesaver for cleaning your pump parts while on-the-go. Wipe them down before storing them back in your bag or case.

8. Sunscreen and Hat: Protect yourself and your baby from the summer sun. So many cute sun hats have built-in UPF — try one of these!

9. Comfortable Seating: Some venues may allow portable seating — a lightweight, collapsible chair can be a good option for comfort during your pump session. If not, at least bring a comfortable blanket so that you have somewhere soft to sit while putting your pump together and transferring your milk afterwards.

10. Storage Cooler: A cooler with a built-in ice pack will keep your expressed milk fresh and safe (at 59°F or below) for up to 24 hours.

Being a breastfeeding or pumping mom doesn't mean you have to miss out on a single part of the setlist. Be prepared, plan ahead, and try to go with the flow.

Oh — and plan out your “pee songs” in advance. Nobody wants to wait in line for the bathroom during their favorite song from the setlist.
