We worked with a third party independent testing lab to spearhead our safety testing. That means our portable milk cooler was designed and tested to meet Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Breast Milk Storage Guidelines and American Breastfeeding Medicine Protocol. So, what did we set out to test? We wanted to answer two questions: If our coolers would bring your body temperature breast milk down to a temperature that is safe for storage, and how long would it keep it at that temperature?

How many ounces of breast milk does the Portable Breast Milk Cooler hold?

Our Portable Breast Milk Cooler holds up to 16 ounces of breast milk. That's 3-4 pumping sessions' worth of milk on average, so you can keep all of your milk at a safe temperature while on the go.

Are the Portable Breast Milk Cooler parts dishwasher-safe?

You can put the stainless steel Portable Breast Milk Cooler vessel and the Lid with Handle into the dishwasher. But DO NOT wash the ice pack. It doesn’t need it!

How do I keep my breast milk cool when out and about?

Our specially-designed insulated cooler with a built-in gel ice pack is designed to keep your milk at a safe temperature. For optimal results, put the ice pack in the freezer for at least 8 hours before use, and ideally up to 12 hours.

What are the dimensions of the Willow Cooler?

The Portable Breast Milk Cooler is 9.5” tall and 3” wide. It fits in most standard cup holders.

Is the Portable Breast Milk Cooler compliant with TSA travel requirements?

Yes! TSA regulations state that any medical necessary gel ice packs are exempt from liquid travel restrictions in any state (eg. melted, slushy), and with or without the presence of breast milk

How long can I store my milk in the cooler?

We have tested our Portable Breast Milk Cooler with an independent third-party lab to ensure that up to 16 oz of milk remains at a safe temperature for up to 24 hours.

Can I put my Portable Breast Milk Cooler in the refrigerator?

If you are planning to store your Portable Breast Milk Cooler in the refrigerator, please note that the frozen ice pack must be inserted in order to keep your milk at a safe temperature. (This may even keep your milk cool longer.) Without the ice pack, your milk may not remain cold enough.

Can my Portable Breast Milk Cooler overheat in a warm room?

We recommend keeping it at room temperature (between 68-72°) to ensure that your breast milk cools properly and remains at a safe temperature.
