Tips To Make the Most of Your Willow Wave

Maximize the efficiency of Wave with these helpful insights.

Willow Wave is the first and only fully in-bra, wearable manual pump that’s designed for maximum discretion, comfort, and convenience. Exciting! But if you’ve used a traditional manual pump before, Wave will be a little different. In order to make an in-bra wearable pump that’s both discreet and mobile, we designed it as an “open system,” which allows milk to flow easily. With that, we want to walk you through a few tips that will help you pump successfully and save every drop.

#1 Pump the handle, but don’t hold it down

If you’ve pumped with a traditional manual pump, you may have learned to do a long hold at the end of a squeeze––but holding down the handle could end up pulling milk into the tubing. If a break is needed, release the handle to the open position.

#2 Stay upright if you have a strong letdown

If you’re a mom with a strong letdown, you probably know it. This means when your milk comes in, it can be a strong spray instead of a trickle. If this sounds familiar, we recommend keeping an upright posture during letdown to prevent milk flow into the tubing.

#3 Pause and pour if your cup is too full

Once you get to around 5 oz, we recommend pouring your milk into a storage container and continuing to pump.

#4 When your session is finished, remove tubing first

Once you’ve finished pumping with Willow Wave, disconnect the tubing first while the collection cup is still in your bra. Lean forward, pull out the collection cup and pour into a storage container so you’ll never lose a drop.
